Warwick 10 - Staffordshire 1
The men’s 2nds played against a team that beat Warwick 12-1 twice (home and away) last season; a Staffs team renowned not only for their well drilled and technically able players, but also their aggressive ball-playing nature.
However with a much more experienced team, Warwick was able to overturn the misfortunes of last year and defeated them 10-1.
A fantastic drive and goal from Patrick Lindsay saw Warwick take the lead so early on in the game, and from then on the goals started pouring in. Warwick held the ball up very efficiently near their goal, rotating the ball well with fluid passes and calculated movement. Staffordshire's only goal came when Warwick were a man down following Sean Abbott-Imboden being sent off after hitting his own player.
All in all it was a very pleasing win – credit to Luke Foster for scoring two vital goals, and a quick shout out to fresher Jack Guise for making his debut, and for his contribution.
